Le rassembleront à Toronto pour la cinquième Journée pour le Darfour

Monsieur le Président, dimanche, des Canadiens se rassembleront à Toronto pour la cinquième Journée pour le Darfour, une manifestation visant à mettre en lumière la crise humanitaire qui touche le peuple du Soudan.
Il nous est impossible, en qualité de députés, de fermer les yeux devant les horreurs qui sévissent dans cette région du globe. Les femmes vivent dans la peur constante d’être violées ou agressées. Les réfugiés vivent dans l’insécurité et manquent de tout et les civils continuent d’être la cible de tueurs.
Des députés du caucus libéral se joindront, par solidarité, à ceux qui se rassembleront dimanche et nous continuerons de faire pression sur le gouvernement pour qu’il agisse au Darfour.
Notre pays doit être une voix forte et persistante pour ceux qui souffrent de cette tragédie et nous resterons fidèles à l’héritage du premier ministre Lester Pearson, qui a oeuvré pour un monde pacifique et sûr.
