Statement on the passing of Hon. Jack Layton

TORONTO – Mark Waldman, Executive Director of CJPAC made the following statement regarding the death of Hon. Jack Layton, Leader of the Official Opposition:
“On behalf of the Canadian Jewish Political Affairs Committee, I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to everyone affected by the tragic passing of Hon. Jack Layton.
A strong believer in the power of young people, Mr. Layton always found time to speak to our CJPAC Fellows. No matter what their partisan affiliation, Mr. Layton’s passion and commitment inspired many of them to deepen their own political activities.
May Canadians from across the political spectrum continue to be inspired by Mr. Layton’s love for Canada, unrelenting drive, and tenacious desire to build a better world.”
